Dr. Beth Jordan, assistant professor of occupational therapy (OT) at Keuka College, has been appointed to the OTR® Certification Examination Development and Validation Committee—Clinical Simulation Group (OTRCE-CS). The committee is part of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Dr. Jordan will join other experts in developing and validating clinical simulation questions that will appear on an upcoming NBCOT exam. She will bring her knowledge of pediatric OT to the committee, with her one-year term beginning this December.
“We will work to better understand the relationship between the clinical simulation problems and the OTR certification exam,” says Dr. Jordan on her role on the committee. “We will identify and discern cognitive levels and content in the development of questions. I am very excited to be included in this committee.”
“The Division of Occupational Therapy is very proud to have faculty members participate in these national-level volunteer opportunities,” says Dr. Chris Alterio, interim chair and program director for the Division of Occupational Therapy. “These opportunities provide an important service for the occupational therapy profession, including our Keuka College students, who will one day take their certification examination.”
In addition to teaching at Keuka College, Dr. Jordan also serves as a senior OT at the Margaret L. Williams Developmental Evaluation Center in Syracuse.
